Today has simply been constantly moving. I got up around 11am, just in time to take a nice long shower before heading to breakfast with all my friends. When I finally got back, I had to pack for the overnight trip. I made the shuttle, but when I got to the train station, I discovered that the train I was planning on taking into London King's Cross had been canceled, apparently due to lack of personnel. Suckey economies spread like wildfire. Anyways, I was asking an employee about the next train to KCX and he said it would be in 40 minutes, then backtracked and said 15! I made it to the metro and met up with Rikus in south London.
The ballet at the Royal Opera was really amazing-it was smaller than the Fox in STL, but it was really amazing. Everything was covered in gold and velvet. I was so close to the conductor I could see wrinkle lines on his face! For the first half of the ballet I was in the middle of a practically empty row-4 empty seats on each side of me. After intermission, they filled up pretty fast. I was only disappoineted in the fact that their gift shop closed before the ballet was finished, so I didn't get any postcards of the interior. After meeting up with Rikus after the ballet we headed to Leicester square, where I got Pizza Hut!!!! We just bought it by the slice, so we were eating perfect pizza in 25 degree weather. The pizza was so warm that it hurt my super cold teeth. Afterwards, we headed towards a Cinnabon-absolutely amazing. After such awful food for such a long time, I fell in love with the cinnabon. We took tons of pictures of this event, which should be posted later. I feel like I saw a lot of London today because we took the bus, instead of the tube, which I always rely on for mass transportation. We passed all the landmark sites, including westminster abbey, big ben, and trafalgar square. We also went by Covent Garden, which is now decorated for Christmas. I cannot believe it's almost time for me to start taking finals and heading to Italy for 10 days. People are really beginning to count down the days until we reach the US. Part of me is ready to go home and part of me wants to stay here forever. I love how there is always something to do-unlike the middle of nowhere, USA.
